Behind Closed Doors

She hides her pain through lies and fakes a smile. No one knows how she truly feels; she wants to know who she truly is. Deep down she knows there is more to her than this. It’s her eighteenth birthday; she doesn’t waste any time and She leaves and sets off to find what she has been missing her whole life. She takes a deep breath and walks slowly to what should have been hers all along. She looks into this window of this beautiful house. As she looks in she sees a wonderful family. She begins to become angry and screams. The man runs to the door and looks into the girls eyes. She begins to walk away and she turns around for one last time and says “this should have been my life too, Dad. She turns to begin to walk away; her father runs up and hugs her. She falls to the ground, holding onto her father. He looks into her eyes, and says, “I love you.” She wishes she could say the same to him. She asks,” why did you leave me? What did I do wrong? He looks at her and said, “No, I was wrong. I felt like you deserved better than me.” She laughs sarcastically and says, “well I didn’t get a say in that.. that’s not fair!!” She begins to stand up and run. she stops for a moment and looks at the man. She wish she could call her father... after a moment she jumps up and realizes it’s just a dream… a dream that lies behind closed doors.
